Web Design Tutorials for Xara Web Designer 8 Premium: Lesson 74 fixed position on page and footer

Web Designer Tutorials for Xara Web Designer MX Premium. This Xara Web Designer 8 MX Premium tutorial will go over how to use the new position on page feature to choose how objects interact with page size. The "fixed" option is usually the default for any object that you draw in your work space and it always retains its position no matter how the page is re-sized. If you apply the position on page option for "footer" it will make the object change position based on the bottom part of the page. For example if you were to make the page larger (i.e. increase the height) the object would move down with page in equal proportion. The reason it moves down in equal proportion is so that it retains the same amount of distance between the bottom part of the page no matter how you re-size the height of the page. If you were to make the page height smaller the object would move up so that the same distance is again retained from the bottom of the page.

There are a few other options for position on page and those will be covered in another tutorial.
